Seventy-two hours dedicated to Milan, birthplace of Cartography, the city that welcomes us every time we come back home from our travels. To describe its most classic and noble spirit. To lend an ear to those periods whose mark Milan elegantly bears – the early 1930s in the villa of Angelo Campiglio and the Necchi sisters; the late neoclassical architecture of the Setti Carraro, the city’s most prized state school. To sit every day at the traditional bars, the ones with the doily mat saying “est. 1824”, whose black bow-tied waiters have been serving excellent Italian breakfasts and drinks for almost two hundred years. To make frequent visits to the nuns’ gallery of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, each time to see the Diluvio Universale with Noah’s Ark. To book a table on a Friday evening in summer on the edge of the Balera dell’Ortica dancefloor for ballroom dancing night. And then, to make a trip to the city’s weekly markets, on Thursdays in Via Pietro Calvi, the last Sunday of the month on the Naviglio Grande. And lastly to experience the Fondazione Prada exhibition venue, presented to the city about one year ago, in those outskirts which perhaps give the last taste of the true Milan.
