SESC Pompéia 1977
Água Branca, São Paulo

“I built the SESC – Fábrica da Pompeia, which isn’t really a museum, it doesn’t have a collection. It’s a social centre, a café. The only thing I like to do there is go to the café and see a child sitting there with a big plate piled high with food. An elderly man with a full plate. That’s the only thing that makes me happy, because there they help themselves to as much as they want and no one bats an eyelid.”
